![]() The Family Support Network (FSN) is a network of families that have a family member who has a disability. Communitas staff create opportunities for families to meet together, support each other, and to be supported. A committee of parents and staff coordinate various activities throughout the year. Evening workshops are scheduled from time to time for parents to provide opportunities to connect and support one another. Some of our annual events include a Spring Get Together, a family picnic in the summer and our Fall Retreat that occurs annually on Thanksgiving weekend. Annual Fall RetreatHeld in a peaceful camp setting, our Fall Retreat caters to every member of the family. Its family style, accessible accommodation provides a great time for all to get away from daily routines and enjoy a different environment. Support and learning from others who have similar experiences is therapeutic and refreshing to the body, soul and mind. Often there is a guest speaker for parents, while other family members are busy with planned activities led by college students and volunteers. |
Annual Fall Retreat
The Annual Fall Retreat provides an opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of others who are journeying on a similar road. Informal interactions occur over the weekend which fosters mutual hope and encouragement.
This event is held annually on Thanksgiving Weekend. Check back here for further information Fall 2009.
